Title: Rays and Pirates come to terms
Post by: VolsRaysBucs on July 09, 2011, 06:55:07 PM

Tampa Bay sends:
SP Livan Hernandez 6M (2011)
- 3.5M cash exchanged from Tampa Bay

Pittsburgh sends:
OF Shane Peterson 0.5M (p-n/a)

Rays make this move to free up some more cash and to get a player we really like for a player we did not plan on re-signing.  Pirates get a solid veteran SP on an expiring contract for their playoff push.  Very easy and quick talks, thanks Colby  :toast:

Here's hoping Livan's 2nd half is just as good as his 1st.  He is having another one of his consistent, QS-laden, inning eating years, and he should fit into the 5th spot of my rotation (bumping Happ to 6th).  Welcome back to the Pirates Livan!  It's certainly been a while. :bacon:
