Sabres trade
D Mike Weber, $0.2m (P-2012)
1st round draft pick
Penguins trade
Kris Letang, $3.5m (2013-2014)
Brooks Orbik, $3.8m (2013-2014)
I do this trade to get Letang who is becoming one of the better D in the league. I also pick up Orpik who is a good depth defenceman. I feel getting Letang is well worth a 1st round pick.

Deal. I clear $7.1m in cap space, pick up a replacement D-men and a 1st round pick. Losing Letang is the hurt here, but I feel that I can find suitable replacements and fill out the rest of my roster properly through FA now. :toast:

Think it is a horrible trade as Letang is one of the top in the game but it is what happens when cap becomes an issue.
