Dallas Gets

D Jared Cowen, $1.3m (2011-2012)

Ottawa gets

D Tyler Cuma, $0.2m (P-2012)
2011 second Phili

Dallas is happy to add a great young D prospect. He should see lot's of nhl action this year. It's tough looseing Cuma who I insisted be included in a previous trade I made but I belive Cuma is further behind Cowan in development and that Cowan will be the better player. Ottawa to confirm.

I confirm this trade. I think Cuma has more long term upside and am trying to develop a good young d-man and also get a decent second round pick. Tough to lose Cowan but I like the value I get back
