It appears that unless I hear otherwise, Rick, the current White Sox GM is going to step down given a replacement. Current GMs eligible for the job have 72 hours to apply.
-
Can you share with us why he is leaving the team?
-
Perhaps my post is reactionary, but Rick told me that if there is a replacement waiting then he could resign now, but was planning to do so at the end of the season. I'll give Rick the opportunity to give the reasons why he is leaving.
-
There have been some decisions made in the last 6 months that I disagree with and choose to no longer live with.
I'll finish the year but if management finds suitable replacements I'll step aside

A noble decision. I hate to see Rick leave but I can understand why you would want to.

Approximately one more day for an internal applicant.
-
I for one really hate to see Rick leave. He is a pillar of this league as well as an overall excellent GM, competitor, and person. I really hope you reconsider Rick.

Gentlemen, fortunately, all of us agree that we would love for Rick to change his mind. Unfortunately, he has not changed his mind. I have to move on with the application process. As Rick said, if there is a suitable replacement then he will step aside as he plans on resigning. Seventy-two hours has passed by, so this job opening will move to the waiting list.

Put me in consideration for the next GM of the Whitesox
-
i would love too run the white sox. the reasons i would love to run the white sox are as follows: i love challenges in baseball, u can ask any other league im in im active and i love anything i run and i have had some bad teams that are being built into good young teams. i feel i could be an asset to the white sox franchise. my name is brandon ryan. my fantrax id is FantasyNightmares my profsl name is Fantasy Nightmares.
If i win the sox job i plan to asses what rick has and either make small moves to put them over the top or rebuild them too be young and strong and win for a long time.

I believe I can be a good candidate for the White Sox GM position as I have been a member of this website for over 10 months now and the longest I have been off is about a week. So you won't be risking adding a whole new guy to the website and hoping he stays around. Also I have a great amount of experience in these types of leagues as I have been playing in them for over 4 years now. My prime example that you can find is the Pirates in AGM. I was able to build that team through a couple of great trades gaining cornerstone pieces for now and the future as well as being extremely active in free agency and acquiring but not overpaying for several players. Currently I am in 10th place in the entire league which I feel is a great accomplishment. For the White Sox my plan is to build around the great young talent Rick has been able to acquire. With a strong core of alavrez, Hudson, Matsuz, Trumbo, Stubbs, and some minor league talent as well this team has a bright future and I only hope to make it a brighter one. I will do this by moving some aging but still talented vets in martin and molina as Rosiaro is the catcher in waiting. This will bring in some pitching depth to the team and rid it of some salary. With the extra salary I will first dedicate a small chunk to locking up some of my great young talent and then use the rest in trades and free agency to bring in more talent. I believe with my plan I can build a championship caliber team and continue the great path Rick has set this team on. :bacon:
I hope you consider me for the position,
Jason Harnack
ID: Bigbenxl786
Also I will be away for the week with absolutely no internet connection so I will be unable to make any type of response until next Saturday idealy in the afternoon but it could be later.
-
I would love to run this team.
-
RC, would you like to cast a vote? I still have it in the rules that I make the decisions on hiring, but I want to get your opinion. I was pleasantly surprised by Jason's response (bigbenxl786) and Brandon (Fantasy Nightmares) has the activity for sure. I know Jason has wanted to be in this league for a while and I pointed him to AGM many moons ago as a means to gain some experience. He has done very well with the Pirates there.
-
Both would be worthy replacements, but given his proven track record in a similar league, my vote would go to Jason for the job.
-
I will vote for Jason as well. He's been pretty active in AGM.
-
Jason's response sold me

Welcome Jason to the most prestigious league here at PROFSL. Bhows was a great owner even though I have been in here all of 1 month. He showed me a few things in the short time we were in here together. I pass on the mantle of newbie to you lol. :toth:
-
Congratulations Jason!
A lot of love was put into this team, I leave it to you in very good financial shape and enough young talent to build on. My intentions were not necessarily to win immediately but to "watch the kids grow up". If you are patient I'm sure you will see the fruits of that labor.
To the FGM Trade Committee- Give Jason the same respect you gave fantasyguru. Protect him from Howe; you all know he's lurking out there waiting to pick on yet another newbie
-
Guys, feel free to keep Rick's ending statement there. Truly sad to see you go. Welcome Jason!
-
Grats jason. im glad u got the position if i didnt. i know u will do a great job
-
please notify me of a new opening. as much as i want to be in this league i am a cubs fan and would hate to be the sox. and if by some miracle the cubs open up i will fight for them
