Title: Offseason FA Market
Post by: clidwin on February 05, 2010, 08:04:27 AM
I have one problem with our FA biding process. I like the position dates but for instance my RFA is not until 2/15 and I dont want to spend money due to his resigning and I dont know how much money I have. So I missed out on some positions. I was thinking next season, to due the top 20 or so first and so on. Just subtract the positions to what they ranked overall in the Free Agent Market on Fantrax. What you guys think?

Other leagues I am in do RFA bidding first.  It seems like it would be better to either do all the RFAs first or combine them with the first category of positions.

Doing RFAs first would make sense.  I guess we should stick with our current system this year.  Off topic... some may view us questioning the rules as shaky ground for a league, but I like it that all of us are always trying to improve the league, make it more realistic, while keeping it as simple as possible to manage for both the staff and GMs.

I'd be on board with doing all RFA's first.

That seems to make sense.  And it won't affect just a couple teams, since everyone has RFA's, if they choose to.  A solid idea, and I'll vote yes on it.

It looks like next year we are calling for an RFA only period starting in December OR January 1st.

Let's vote RC.... RFA deadline set to the new year with bidding on RFAs only beginning on January 1st, 2011.

I support this rule.
