Giants trade:
MI Barmes, Clint, $5m (2011)
(I don't know how to list that I pay $4.5 million for 2011)
P McGuire, Deck, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Reds trade:
OF Brown, Gary, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Reds do this to get some pitching help in the future. Brown has turned out to be quite a talent but the one thing the Reds do have is OFs in the low minors. Barmes is a throw in to even up the talent in the trade, since he will not be re-signed, but should be useful for the remainder of the season.

San Francisco Giants confirm.

Giants welcome back one of their top prospects in Gary Brown.  This is essentially a pitching prospect for an OF prospect and I believe Brown has shown a lot of promise as a member of the San Jose Giants in the California League.  Barmes was not going to be re-signed, and considering I am in the depths of the NL West, and injured most of the year, he will not be missed.
