Title: Catcher Contracts
Post by: rcankosy on July 02, 2011, 01:28:09 PM
I think the salaries for catchers under Contracts in the rules needs to be updated.  The # 1 C is Mauer with an average salary of 23m per year, and he signed the deal prior to the 2010 season.

The contracts are tied to our league and not MLB.  Of course, many of the original contracts came from MLB payrolls.

Yes, I realize that but the salary scale for catchers should be updated to reflect real life salaries the same way that the other positions have been updated.  For example, Jose Bautista would be entitled to the A-Rod contract just like Pujols was last year if he was extended.

All extension values have been updated in the same manner - using salaries from Franchise GM.  The only way the catcher values will increase is if a big name hits FA.
