"Players on the MiLR may be traded, but the acquiring team must place them on the 30-man roster"
This doesn't make sense to me. Why do they have to be brought up?? I don't like this rule at all and I know I am not the only one. I know I am just a temporary gm but I am totally lost at this rule and am wondering why its in place.

I know I'm not a huge fan either... Chris and myself are discussing makeing the MlR bigger and I would also like to change the rule you brought up as well. If everybody agrees make a post here just so we can see whos intrested in change.

I am in favor of changing this rule as well as making the minor leagues bigger.

It is a rule borrowed from Franchise GM. It was used in that league to promote farming of young minor leaguers from the entry draft to the major league roster.

That makes sense just thought it was kinda of funny that you couldn't trade for someone unless you put them on your big club but this explanation makes sense.
I am all for expanding the minors and changing this rule even know I am a temp, thats my opinion.

The rule most likely will not be changed. It is there to prevent exactly what it is you want to do. The purpose of the MiLR is not to stockpile prospects, it is to maintain the hands you actually drafted. It keeps parity in the league when you cannot keep all your prospects in the minors on a revolving door.
Plus, say I bid on a guy and win him for say 2m a year. I put him on the MiLR roster so once he comes off his salary is now at the cap hit determined by his draft position. Simply a revolving door loophole. I like your thoughts though, keep the coming.

I was thinking more of rebuilding a franchise it makes it sort of frustrating to trade for prospects to rebuild your franchise but have to put them on your big club before they even leave junior. But I will work with the rules in place just was wondering why it was in place. It might make a new hockey league that starts up even better know that they know both sides. Thanks for the explanation. :toast: :toast:
