The New York Daily News reports that the

:NYM: has sent

P Dickey, R.A., $5m (2012)
X-P Dickey, R.A., Cash Exchange on Contract, $-2m in 2011

to  :PHI: for

SP Scherzer, Max, $9.5m (2012)
:PHI: will be paying 3.5m in 2011 on the contract of Max Scherzer

The Mets agree that the reporting is accurate. Scherzer has struggled just a tad this year, but he has always been a second half pitcher. The Mets get a younger sp and someone they like a hec of a lot more than Dickey.

Phils agree.  I hate to see Scherzer go but I needed to save a little money to get under the cap.  Thanks Corey!

Approved, Scherzer is much younger, but financially is not earning the money.
