There are a number of reasons for me to make this trade
1.) Since I make it to the playoffs yearly and go nowhere, I've decided to go another direction
2.) The uncertainty of Stanton's contract extention. Could be as high as $17M
3.) Matt Weiter's real life contract situation. As a FA I'm not real sure where he will end up and at what position. He is 29 y/o, ancient for a C. If he ends up at CI, fine, but I'll need a catcher.
4.) While SP is not a huge commodity in FGM, cheap SP is. Bradley is a former #7 overall pick who is in line for a spot in ARZ's rotation @ $0.5M/yr for at least 4 years..
5.) N.Walker was the #11 MI in our league last year. Any time you can pick up a player of his caliber at a premium position you almost have to do it.
6.) Availability of FA OF in this year's FA crop.

I make this trade because it's not everyday you have the ability to pick up a game changer like Stanton. While he may end up with a high resign, I feel he will be worth whatever that ends up being. I'm also dealing from depth everywhere but MI. Having my 2 catchers locked up longterm and looking to deal a starter or two it came down to whether a lesser MI was worth Stanton and I definitely think he is.
