The Phillies and Yanks have made a deal.
Phillies get:
OF Victorino, Shane, $10.5m (2011)
X-OF Victorino, Shane, Cash Exchanged on Contract, $-3.5m in 2011
Yankees get:
OF Werth, Jayson, $17m (2014)
Phillies pay 10m in 2011 and 2.5m in 2012
I do this deal to get out from under Werth's contract. I like Werth and think he will continue to be productive but I need the cash. I will pay a little next year and then I'm out from under it. Victorino is a good replacement with a somewhat reasonable contract.

i do this deal because im swinging for the fence, i need werth back to his old ways weird part is i own him in all my leagues so i must believe! so taking a big time shot with a big time contract wish me luck lol

Interesting deal, not a fan of Werth in the leadoff spot from a fantasy perspective.

Im not sure why they are batting him leadoff either. He should be hitting 4th or 5th. He should be behind Zimmerman now that he's back. Werth will finish with his usual 20 to 25 HR's and 85 RBI's this year. I don't think they will keep him in the leadoff spot long.

They have no one else to bat lead off... Nix and Morse are putting up surprising years in the middle of the order. They are not a well constructed ball club.
