Maybe I'm confused given that I'm the new guy, but I thought the rule was that the auction was over once a bid has sat for 48 hours? I put in an offer of $4M on 9/24 at 1:35 PM. That offer sat uncontested for 57 hours, at which point the Yankees put a higher bid on him (9/26 at 11:09 PM). But since the offer came after the 48-hour window, wouldn't that new bid be irrelevant?
Sorry if I'm confused here, but by my interpretation of the rules I had already added Abreu to my internal roster file. If I'm wrong, it's all good. Thanks either way.
