Title: Sharks and Habs trade

Canadians trade
Justin Schultz, $3.3m (2014-2017)
3rd Habs pick - 2105

Sharks trade
Jeff Zatkoff, $4.8m (2015-2018)

I wanted a backup in the even Dubnyk tanks or gets hurt.  Didnt really want to move Schultz as i think he will have a turn around year but you have to move a decent piece if you want any type of goalie in this league.  Zats should be a reliable backstop in pittsburgh but probably that is his ceiling , i am ok with that.

:SJ: Sharks confirm this deal.
Hate moving a Goalie in this league but we have options and alternatives at the position in San Jose so we pulled the trigger on this deal with Montreal.
Zatkoff will be a great Goalie option given Fleury's habit of pulling a Humpty Dumpty annually.
With Justin, we're talking potential still and we save a few bucks on cap.

Nice trade. That Zatkoff contract is excessive but that's par for the course in this league. Otherwise, I like it!

:iatp: I think Snug made out like a bandit landing a goalie for a questionable D the Oilers are getting tired of waiting for. Edmonton also landed FA Sekera so Schultz wont get as much PP time this coming yr imo.
