Twins give:

MI Roberts, Brian, $9.5m (2013) (9.5m paid by MIN this year, 5m paid by MIN in 2012)
OF Abreu, Bobby, $5.5m (2013) (5.5m paid by MIN this year)
SP Hudson, Tim, $6m (2013) (5m paid this year)

for the Jays:

MI Sizemore, Scott, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Taylor, Michael, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Leake, Mike, $0.5m (P-2013)

We are basically forfeiting our future to make a push this year. When the fantrax issues are fixed we should be back in first place at the AL East and need more talent to be able to make a push for the WS. Specially with Oakland so strong.

i do this to get rid of older players with bad contracts for good young players

A lot of good veterans being moved, but the Twins save over $30m in total cap space over the next couple years. Prospects all have moderate upside in my opinion.

 :iatp: have a good amount of teams making defining moves dumping older players and salary for youth. Looks like going to be tough compotition for playoff spots
