OF Eibner, Brett, $0.5m (P-n/a)

pirates trade:
CI Barton, Daric, $0.5m (P-2011)
P Cecil, Brett, $0.5m (P-2013)
OF Kalish, Ryan, $0.5m (P-2013)
OF Reddick, Josh, $0.5m (P-n/a)

i do this to get younger and i probably wouldnt resign carp or blake because they are old and expensive to resign. these guys hopefully could help me win next year or year after that

I was not going to resign Barton.  Cecil is collecting dust in the minors.  I lose out on two AAA Red Sox OF prospects to make a bigger push this year.  The Pirates are making a big push here.

Certainly both teams make a play to better their clubs.  Colby is going for it and can load up with some MLB talent.  Minni gets a lot of good looking young players. 

Personally I think Colby will rue the day he made this trade in a few years.  Kalish is going to be an everyday player in Boston in less than one year, book it!

I probably will hate this trade especially when Barton turns it around, but 20 losing years is enough already.
