The Baltimore Orioles trade
MI Young Jr., Eric, $0.5m (P-2013)
RP Soriano, Rafael, $2.5m (2012)
X-RP Soriano, Rafael, Cash Exchanged on Contract (2011), $1.0m in 2011
to the Yankees for
OF Garcia, Jonathon, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Gennett, Scooter, $0.5m (P-n/a)
The Baltimore Orioles do this trade to get rid of Part of Soriano's deal for this year. I was planning on cutting him after the trade deadline If I couldn't trade him. Trading him gets rid of more salary then if I cut him this year and also gets rid of next years salary. Young was recently called up to the majors but I don't see him ever being more than a utility player. I will happily exchange these two players for two younger prospects.

i take this deal because i dont feel i gave much up i liked gennett but dont know that he will make it up to the big club anytime soon with the brew crew. ey2 is there now kinda taking a chance on this deal, hoping ey2 sticks and hits. getting two MLBers for two specs that arent garanteed to make it. gret negotiating with u, this was one of the easier ones.
