Title: Red sox/ cubs come to terms

Cubs trade:
OF Colvin, Tyler, $0.5m (P-2013)
CI Gillaspie, Conor, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Red Sox trade:
OF Bay, Jason, $13m (2014)


I do this deal in effort to cut cost I inherited this contract and I get Colvin who I hope starts getting playing time to show the talent he displayed last year and a young prospect for future. Oh yea and I lose the contract been trying to deal for while.

Cubs confirm. The Cubs take on a fairly decent sized contract but the risk is worth it if Bay brings his performance level up to the level in which he is capable. If he can, it isn't a terrible deal. I give up a few young players for a full-time major league player who has in the past posted All-Star caliber number and I believe all hope is not lost for him. I think I finally have a lineup filled with major league players for the first time all season.
