Title: Veto trade off one vote!!!
Post by: papps on July 27, 2015, 07:59:34 AM
How can you veto a trade off one vote!!!!  That is ridiculous.  Its a week before the trade deadline and we get one vote on a trade??  If the TC doesn't have time to vote then we need to get new members.  You can't veto a trade off one vote, I don't care about majority when its one person.  The TC should be pushed to make votes or be replaced if they don't want to do it.  Its really sad to see the state of activity this league has become!!!!  :soapbox: :soapbox: :soapbox: :soapbox:

The majority rule is crap when its one vote.  Whether its an approval or veto no trade should be processed on one vote.  Not one person should have that much power to decide.  The TC needs to do its job or be replaced with more active members.

I agree 1 veto and trade shouldn't be vetoed make it like 3 vetoes or something like that.

Were you not a part of the discussion when we established the rules governing trades in FGM?  Do you remember this?

•   If the 48 hour time period passes, the trade will be ruled valid if it receives at least two approvals.  This will be viewed as a process of a simple majority (2 approvals vs. 1 veto), since two vetoes would automatically stop a trade.

The 48 hour time limit passed, in fact it was on the board for about 60 hours, and the trade became invalid--not because of one veto as you would have everyone believe--but because it failed to get at least two approvals during the 48 hour time period.

Your constant attacks on the Trade Committee serve no purpose.  You have been attacking the Trade Committee for the past two years, and if you recall, one member of our league decided enough was enough and resigned from the Trade Committee after you unmercifullly attacked his veto.  Now that the 48 hour period has passed, you and the Reds GM have chosen to repost your trade, and if I'm not mistaken, you have already gotten at least two approvals--which would mean your trade would pass, even if I cast another veto, because of the crap "majority vote".

The trade was not "processed" because it received one veto, it became invalid because it failed to get the necessary votes, approvals or vetoes, in the 48 hour time period.  If you look at the rule, a trade can have one veto and still pass if it receives two approvals.  If I recall, you were adamant about establishing a time frame for trades because trades were sitting on the board and the Trade Committee did so by coming to a consensus on a 48 hour window.

The current Trade Committee members are not going to be replaced and we are not going to add more.  The process works and we will continue to use it.

Spin it how you want, the fact is it had one vote.  Period.  Majority should not count when its one vote.  Whatever, I'm over it.  Do what you want, its your league.
