Title: Dodgers/Cardinals Trade 7/23/15/ 7:17P Estern
Post by: Paul S. on July 23, 2015, 05:45:18 PM

Dodgers trade:
SP Greinke, Zack, $11m (2017)   $11m   $11m   $11m
X-SP Greinke, Zack, Cash Exchanged on Contract Through 2015, $-8m in 2015   $-8m

Cardinals trade:
CI Lowrie, Jed, $5.5m (2018), signed 3/12/15   $5.5m   $5.5m   $5.5m   $5.5m

Cards make this trade in order to strengthen the starting rotation.  We did not want to trade Lowrie who is coming off the DL and has MI elegibility for the 2015 season.  Dodgers to confirm.

Dodgers agree. I'm running out of fingers to plug the dam, injuries to Cabrerra, Stanton and now Mercer (not to mention the pitching) have forced this trade. I really didn't want to give up Grienke but a large portion of my offense is on the DL. Playoffs are on the horizon and I need a lot of help.
Thanks Paul and Good Luck!
