Title: Min/A's Deal
Post by: Needle Juice on May 19, 2011, 10:33:55 PM
Pending approval of the Yanks/A's Deal posted earlier.

CI Teixeira, Mark, $22.5m (2016)
X-CI Teixeira, Mark, Cash Exchange on Contract, $-5m in 2011
X - Min pay $2.5m in 2011
X - Min pay $6m in 2012

FOR

CI Ramirez, Aramis, $15m (2011)
C Doumit, Ryan, $4m (2013)
X - Yankees pay 2m in 2011
X - A's pay $1.5m in 2011

I receive Tex in exchange for ARAM and Doumit.  Tex is a 2nd half guy and very good in this format.  ARAM and Doumit are both serviceable.  With the $6m in 2012, there is a chance we the A's to consider keeping Tex for one more season as well.  For the Twins, they get a reasonable return and out of Tex's contract for the future.

Mark, good working with you, please confirm

Wow.  The A's getting Teix?  I personally think a decent prospect or two should go to the Twins in this deal to make it more realistic.

ARAM's expiring contract has additional value to him, especially with Tex's long term deal.  Doumit is putting up solid numbers at a shallow position.  If TC believes I should add a prospect, I will.

I have to agree with Colby. This is basically Tex for Doumit, even with the Tex's contract, I think a prospect is needed. I have no idea why Dunn and Gomez for Tex was turned down.....

OF Linares, Juan Carlos, $0.5m (P-n/a), signed 2/22/11
P Krol, Ian, $0.5m (P-n/a)

The A's and Twins have reworked the deal, adding two prospects, one from my EDR.  A's get Tex in exchange for a solid C, good CI that is solid and can be resigned at good value and two prospects.  Krol is more widely know, SP for the A's, saw him crack a top 100 list for prospects.  Very solid guy.  Linares is not quite as well know and a bit old for a prospect.  He is cuban and talked about in the same breath as Kendrys Morales for great Cuban players.  He hit well in AFL, but struggling to adapt to AAA ball.

Mark, thanks for the deal, please confirm.

I am little surprised as well trading for Tex with the big contract then deal him for aged looks like past time Ramirez and doumit adding couple prospects helps but if that's what 2 agreed on  :judge: :iatp:

It has, I was trying to politely ask why it was not processed.

Just want to throw this out there, but if GMs offer each other the trade in fantrax, it is quicker to process, especially since Corey, Jake, and I have all been in a time crunch for the past several days. I have been mostly working from my cell, and do not have access to Fantrax via my phone, since it is a piece of dung and I refuse to upgrade to an iPhone yet.
