This is insane, San Fran and Los Angeles pushing their offers over $60m for a Franchise GM record (to surely be broken).  Verlander definitely deserves it!  After all, he was the Franchise GM AL Cy Young winner in 2009!

For a while it was looking like he was going to get the same money ($80m 5-year deal) as the Tigers gave him.  He definitely deserves it as the stats show he was the 2009 AL Cy Young winner per our scoring system.
