Title: Trade: Wild/Sabres
Post by: Snygg on May 05, 2015, 03:12:41 PM
To Minnesota Wild :MIN-NHL:
G - Dustin Tokarski, $3.4m (2014-2017)
D - Jack Johnson, $5.1m (2013-2016)
D - Ryan Pulock (2013: 1/15 - 0 Games)
CAP SAVINGS: $3.6M

To Buffalo Sabres :BUF-NHL:
R - Dustin Brown, $7.7m (2014-2018)
D - Roman Josi, $3.3m (2013-2016)
R - Brandon Bollig, $1.1m (2014-2016)
C - Tyler Pitlick (2010: 2/31 - 24 Games) GP updated Mar17, 2015
Round 2 - 2015 :MIN-NHL:
Round 3 - 2015 :MIN-NHL:
CAP HIT: $3.6M

We are in a need for a goalie-add to assist Hiller, and we know how hard it is to trade for a G. Have high personal hopes for Jack Johnson to do well going foward, hopefully he'll be a top D for the Wild for years to come. Ryan Pulock also a great prospect that I like. This trade also gives me the $3.6M in cap space that I needed for the extensions I recently made. I know Dustin Brown had a down year and is a great contributor in multiple categories, but the trade was necessary for cap.

BB to confirm. Thanks for great discussions. Enjoyed it!  :toast:

:BUF-NHL3: confirm this trade.

Sabres got a direct call from the Wild owner who inquired about Dustin and the other duo of Dmen. Our preference was to stay the course without adding too much new cap. But after working on a few angles we agreed this deal might help both clubs.

At 30 Brown might or might not have seen his best days. Coincidence he's had a 2 down yrs since signing his monster deal? We'll see. Josi is a great addition for any team and my Sabres are looking forward to icing a team with him on the PP.

I was looking to build a strong stable of goalies in Buffalo but this deal has enough potential that I felt was worth pursuing.

Good working with you Snygg! :toast:

The way we value goalies in Franchise NHL this trade is fairly even. Also given the cost of  Goaltender extensions, Tokarski has more great value here. Buffalo is getting compensated for assuming a large contract and adding nearly $4 Million in cap. Pulock is a great acquisition by Minnesota. Great trade.

:iatp: Wild add depth in goal and clear cap for more moves and extensions.
Sabres get a healthy package.
