Flyers get:
Henrik Lundqvist 6.2 (2013-2017)
Mark Giordano 2.4 (2013-2016)
Peter Budaj .5 (2014-2016)
Coyotes get:
Joe Pavelski 7.9 (2013-2018)
Radim Vrbata 3.6 (2014-2017)
John Gaudreau, $0.2m (2014-2017-EL)
Michael Latta, $0.2m (2014-2016)
Chris Butler, $0.2m (2014-2016)
Dalton Prout, $0.2m (2013-2015)
I didn't want to but I added Gaudreau. I feel I'm giving up a lot for an aging goalie. This should satisfy the lynch mob.

yes I agree to this deal, John Gaudreau is a very welcome addition.

:veto:
Henrik Lundqvist is still a superstar goaltender.
Mark Giordano is a Top 5 defenseman.
Both positions are difficult to come by in this league. Given their very inexpensive contracts and compounded by the fact Arizona has few other assets I cannot see how this deal as is even with the inclusion of John Gaudreau could be proper compensation for Lundqvist and Giordano.
It is not a fair market offer whatsoever.
And for the record I turned Ottawa from a last place team into the Presidents' Trophy winner in one season.

I :veto: as well. I am on my cell phone right now, so I cannot find and link you to the trade, but I would look up the deal between myself and papps to get a good gauge on how much you should get for lundqvist. I paid a lot to obtain bob.
-
Owners and GMs can + should post their opinion.
At the end if the 2 teams still want to move fwd we will not stop this deal. I've received a few PMs and know how everyone feels.
-
Bob had a higher price tag because he is 7 years younger than Lundqvist. If he was still in his 20's it would mean a higher tag but approaching 34 needs to be factored in the value.
Lundqvist a superstar? Maybe. He has been great for a while. I do know he was the 19th ranked goalie last year. 19th. I'm paying for what he is going to from here on, not for what he did the last 8 years.
Giordano is a top 5 defenseman? Really? He was the 22nd ranked D this year. 13th the year before. C'mon man.
I respect peoples opinions and I don't mind the vetoes because I understand some peoples reasoning but I think its kinda funny because I'm hating how much I have to give up. I think the first deal we had was fine and I feel I'm forced to give up more than I want to in this current deal. Its all in how the deal is looked at.
blkhwkfn and I are very happy with our returns. He is trying to get a more well rounded lineup and I'm trying to win now. He has a vision for his team as I do for mine and we paid our money and should be able to manage our teams.

You guys will never learn.
Its """"""fantasy hockey""""""" gentlemen!!!!!
When 2 grown men playing in a fantasy league agree to a deal, unless they are cheating..then whats the problem?
Your insulting people, like they are beneath you or incompetent & if in your opinion the GM is incompetent than refund his $$$ & kick him out.
Just cuz you wouldn't make the deal doesn't mean the deal shouldn't be made. That's why I cussed people out last year.

He was #8 last year in points per game, which is pretty close to top 5. The year before, he had identical points per game, and same rank. :P
The job of the TC is to evaluate based on facts and actual information, and I believe they are spot on here. Lundqvist is being sold as barely top 20 G, but in reality he is top 5. He has averaged 6.5 point per game over last 2, which easily puts him as a top 5 talent.

Points per game don't mean squat if players don't stay healthy. Some stay more healthy than others. We don't rank extension values on points per game so its an irrelevant stat. We go by where they finish overall for value.

Haven't read all the posts but I'm chiming in with an approval. Arizona has been encouraged to do his due diligence so at this point it's his team, his money, and his decision. There is nothing shady going on here so let's kick jealousy to the curb and let them make a deal!!!
-
Trade Committee:
These members are the active trade committee. They are responsible for approving trades.
Takes 3 approvals for the trade to be confirmed.
They are also responsible for:
- Commenting on trades
- Deciding who won/who lost
- The fairness of the trade
- Whether the trade was legit or set up
- Whether the trade would be a detriment to that franchise or the league.
This is what TC is meant to do.
-
Flyers fans. Sheesh.

There also wisdom in Slack's words and I do feel that way as well.

The standard for trades here is not what we think to be equitable or "fair". As long as deals are not underhanded or devious, GM's have paid for the right to manage a Franchise as they see fit. The fact that you paid a certain price for a goalie only reflects what you were willing to pay.
The agreement we are weighing now should only be judged on whether a new GM is being taken advantage of or not. Clearly, that is not the case. To reiterate: Arizona has been encouraged to do his due diligence so at this point it's his team, his money, and his decision.
-
At this point I think its fair to say this deal is dead. Time to move on, the sun will rise in the east.

I don't think this deal is dead. I think it is s good trade and it should be approved.
-
:veto: Hurts the dawgs because they arent getting much back and already have little to speak of.
-
Lets give all owners another day to toss their 2 pennies in.
As it stands 3 owners support what Arizona wants, :PHO: Arizona wants to move on, there are 3 vetos posted.
-
Of course Arizona wants to move on, everyone is bashing him. If you make a deal you should honor it. This has become a complete joke. At this point I could care less what happens with this trade or this league.

Not sure that I see a 3rd posted approval but it's an interesting split. The votes in favour are arguments for the right of self-determination while the votes against all proclaim Arizona isn't getting fair market value. So basically an apples versus oranges debate.
-
I approve the trade :iatp:

I think there is a good reason that goalies are highly valued in this league, there are 30 teams and only 30 starting goalies. But sometimes the way we evaluate these trades reinforces the high price of goalies.
Pavelski, Vrbata, and Johnny Hockey are great pieces and the later two have great contracts. The other 3 pieces coming give Arizona some depth which is something they are severely lacking. Lundqvist and Giordano would be hard to give up from any team, but I think this deal is gutsy and guts can pay off.
I think the Flyers win this trade, but only slightly and only short-term. By the time Arizona is a powerhouse, Hank won't be what he is now. This deal is not detrimental and the Coyotes aren't giving away the farm.
Anyway, that's just my 2 cents.

:veto: 3 reason why I'm posting a veto
(1) The deal is detrimental to Arizona because it leaves them without a proven starter in goal. And gents, Lundqvist is still a live fish and good for another couple of yrs if not more.   Yeah Lundqvist is definitely washed up after leading the Rangers to the Cup Finals in 2013-14 AND the 2014-15 Presidents' Trophy!
(2) Arizona was not fully aware of how extensions and contract values get measured until this past weekend (the reason I gave him an out from his deal with :CHI-NHL:)
(3) Arizona has asked to opt out of the deal so why are we giving the new owner a hard time here?
:veto:
-
This whole thing is f*cking b*lls*it. F*ck this trade.
-
Arizona has asked to opt out of the deal so why are we giving the new owner a hard time here?
To be fair I'd say nobody was giving him a hard time. All the votes in favour were to protect his right to make his own choices and all the votes against were to protect his team. Pretty friendly all around and a testament to the character of the league.
The only guy who is upset here is Papps and I'm pretty sure he'll get over it as he has a heap of character too. A really determined guy would try a 3rd time. :taco:
-
Thanks for the words Slack, I appreciate it. I'm done wasting my time in this league. This league just dropped hard to the bottom of my priority list. Unless I feel the need to make trades then back out of them
-
:veto:
Someone said it. Maybe in the first incarnation of this trade but how many teams can add a Center with a 7.9m cap hit?
Pavelski turns 31yo in July.
Vrbata turns 34 in June.
Lundqvist turned 33 last month. And he's supposed to be over the hill??? Whaaaa?
As Daddy said and I agree, it's just Fantasy Hockey.

Reasons #2 & #3 above are enough to end this discussion.
Trade null and void. Papps will retain all his assets and not be any worse off. The new owner is red in the face but wiser for the experience.
