Title: D'Backs acquire veteran stud from Yanks
Post by: bravesfan4 on May 09, 2011, 06:56:10 PM
CI-MI Lopez, Felipe, $3m (2012)
CI Goldschmidt, Paul, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Cabrera, Yordy, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI Helms, Wes, $1.5m (2012)

ARZ pays for Helms and Lopez in 2011

FOR

Michael Young 10m (2015)
                        9m (2011) paid by baltimore
      Yanks pay  5m (2012)

Yanks do this deal as a small gamble. Young will help the ARZ immediately! The yanks with Arod, Miggy and LaPorta didnt have room for Young. Moving young for Goldschmidt, who is just absolutely tearing it up this year. And had a hec of a season last year. Helms and Lopez just add organizational depth.

Thanks Omar for the easy negotiations.

Seems like a lot to give up for Michael Young, an aging vet.  I will not approve.
