Rangers sign Taijuan Walker to a prospect extension.
# 204 SP in 2014 = 1m X 30% = 0.3m, increases to 4m extension minimum for 5 years.
Therefore, the new contract is as follows:
2015 0.5m
2016 - 2020 4m
Rangers extend Nolan Arenado for 1 more year.
# 26 CI in 2014 = 9m for 2019. Years prior to 2019 stay the same.
Rangers extend Rubby De La Rosa for 1 more year.
# 155 SP in 2014 = 1m for 2017. Years prior to 2017 stay the same.

If you sign Walker to an extension right now, his contract will be $4.0m (2019) because the new contract begins in 2015 per our rules on prospect extensions.
"...No matter what the current prospect contract is, the prospect extension kicks in the following year at the rate based on when the contract is given."
Since we are in the offseason, 2015 is the following year. If you wait until the season begins, then the extension will begin in 2016.

Respectfully, that has never been the interpretation of that rule. Traditionally, the 2015 season for contract purposes begins as soon as the cap hits are increased (10/14).
If you are adamant about this, consider this request null and void until Sunday evening after the start of the Cubs/Cards game.

Noted, re-post when the season starts.
