Title: Pitchers Hitting
Post by: joeshmoe on May 04, 2011, 10:19:48 AM
Why don't pitchers get credit for hitting?  They're on my team.  Is it because I have a full Offensive lineup?  Hypothetically could I put a P as a UT?

1) It would put a bias against NL/AL pitchers
2) They would have negative points throughout the year for their poor OBP.

I have often thought about this. Yes it would be unfair for AL pitchers, however they do have DH's. If you were to do P scoring you would only count positive points such as points for hits, Rs, RBIs, and sacrifices.  Something to consider, since we try to emulate the MLB.

It would certainly add value to certain pitchers...for good or worse.

And I agree it'd have to be a different system of points for pitchers.  Is it worth it though?  Just asking cause Latos last night hit a HR.

It wouldn't be a whole lot of points, but it would be kinda cool.
