Title: Angels / Mets Trade
Post by: haseloff on February 19, 2015, 03:49:10 PM

:NYM: sends:
Carl Crawford (3.5m, 2018)
$1m per year (2018)

:LAA: sends:
Taylor Lindsey, PC
2016 Draft Pick, 6th round

:NYM: do this deal because we have a glut at LF and turn Crawford into some younger talent.  We also wanted to free up a little more money for this year's callups.
:LAA: to confirm.  THanks for the negotiations, as always, Shane.

Please place Taylor Lindsey in A-Savannah Sand Gnats

Angels confirm. Crawford fills a need at LF and at essentially 2.5M per year the contract shouldn't be too horrible even if injuries and age makes it dead money in a few years. The Markakis negotiations were getting increasingly pricey ( :soapbox: nicole!!!!) so this allows the Angels to not have to take on another high priced FA.

Thanks to haselhof  :toast: for the good negotiation

:NYM: still concurs with trade even though :LAA: "Haselohof'ed " me.  :NYM: will seek future discounts in trade negotiations due to severe breach of protocol.
