Title: Bs Trade Chara and a piece of the future to Buffalo

Bs make a deal to bolster our scoring overall.

Dealt to Sabres
Zdeno Chara, $6.9m (2014-2018)
Joe Morrow, $1.5 (2014-2-2016-EL)
Boston's Round 2 - 2015 pick

Bs get
Steve Ott, $2.8m (2014-2017)
Tyler Myers, $2.1m (2014-2017)
Stephane Robidas, $2.8m (2014-2017)

Chara is having a so so yr and Morrow what Buf wanted to avg out the age. Including the pk made it work for BB. We get a leaf  :puke: but pair of ex Sabres that can help us and have decent deals we can live with. thx for the deal BB.  :toast:

:iatp: Buffalo Sabres agree to this trade with Boston. Chara is Chara and has enough in the tank for us to trade for him. How many times will Chara hit the market? This was the best opportunity to get him out of Boston and we did. I don't think we had to give up much in Ott and Robidas maybe Tyler Myers but he's been terrible for the longest time since his rookie season. I like this deal because along with Z we get Morrow (former 1st round pick) and a 2nd round pick.

:iatp: Chara is definitely having an off yr. Morrow is going to be good when he gets top4 minutes. This deal looks relatively even when you break it all down.

I will give the Edge to Boston for acquiring the better overall package of players. Myers also appears to have found new life in Winnipeg so that will improve his production. As for Zdeno Chara, he along with several other Bruins have had a difficult season to date and for Chara this could be the start of his steep decline but time will tell.

I like what the Sabres are getting here. Morrow is good, and a 2nd rd pick in a deep draft will be a really solid player.
