COL:
X-RP Frasor, Jason, Cash Exchange on Contract, $-1m in 2011
RP Frasor, Jason, $1m (2011)
P Ni, Fu-Te, $0.5m (2011)
P Perdomo, Luis, $0.5m (2011)
PIT:
CI Bates, Aaron, $0.5m (P-n/a)
Aaron Bates is dropped once this trade is processed.

I'll accept this deal... Bates was on the block for a while, and despite Howe dropping him, this deal works for me as I pick up some more pitching. Ni will hit the majors again this year and Frasor is bringing in 9 FPPG this April. I can't believe this is our first trade Howe.
FYI, my roster will be up-to-date at 38 players (requiring no drops here) with Humber taking Ibarra's roster spot.

Deals like this are tough to evaluate. Bottom line is PIT receives two contracts that he must keep and also Frasor which will be productive.

wasnt bates released?

No, I released Ibarra and now Howe is releasing Bates.

A. I dont know exactly what 'released' means in MLB, is that completely cut?
B. I wanted to make sure Cheng was aware of this before approving the trade.

The point of the deal was not to acquire Aaron Bates. I did the deal to clear up 3 roster spots and save 1M in salaries.
