Title: Blues/Avs - Again
Post by: SlackJack on February 14, 2015, 02:19:16 PM
Melker Karlsson, $0.8m (2014-2016)
Josh Jooris, $0.2m (2014-2016)
Zack Kassian, $0.7m (2014-2016)

For

C/LW - Samuel Bennett (2014: 1/4 - 0 Games)
Kevin Poulin, $3.4m (2012-2015)
Richard Clune, $1.0m (2014-2016)
Will Acton, $0.2m (2013-2015)
Round 1 - 2015

Well as half of you already know...

Karlsson and Jooris combined are at 3PPG and Kassian has scored 3 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 games. Last season he was the Canucks top producer for the latter half of the season. Maybe there's something there. All cheap contracts through next year. All 3 players are 24 years old.

Didn't get quite as much as I wanted but Bennett is my prize. Good luck to Ripper the rest of the way. Fortune favours the bold!

Blues were more afraid that someone else would add the depth before we did so we decided to part with Bennett.

I like the fact that the kids I get are young and signed to next year. If you evaluate the trade based on best player and future Colorado wins hands down but if you evaluate on immediate depth then I think I win.

I didn't do enough last year to win so I am trying to learn from my mistake.

GL,

:iatp: Avs seem to have enough cap yo do this approx 3.4 left after factoribg in this trade.
Good play for both teams and both are giving up good players and spare parts to dothis deal.

By my count after all the other deals I am at around $12m in cap space.
