Title: Rays/Cardinals Trade
Post by: Paul S. on April 24, 2011, 07:55:47 PM

Rays trade:  MI Brignac, Reid, $0.5m (P-2013)

Cardinals trade:
MI Gonzalez, Alex, $1m (2011)
P Nova, Ivan, $0.5m (2011)

This trade gives us a young MI who is signed for three years and also reduces salary.  Nova has struggled as a starter this year and was not needed at this point.

Rays accept this deal.

My pitching staff was in shambles and in need of some bodies, and Nova hopefully provides more than that being only 24 still.  The good thing about him being shelled is he will cost me nothing to re-sign lol...Gonzalez provides the depth that was Brignac...Thanks for the easy talks Paul  :toast:
