Title: White Sox/Cards Trade
Post by: Paul S. on February 08, 2015, 08:51:30 PM

:CHW:  :Trade:
SP-RP Gausman, Kevin, $0.5m (P-2016) should be SP only
OF Brown, Gary, $0.5m (P-n/a)

:STL:  :Trade:
OF Ethier, Andre, $9m (2015) :STL: pays $9m in 2015
SP Niese, Jonathon, $2.5m (2015)

We make this trade in order to get Gausman who we expect to outperform Niese in 2015.  We also get Brown who is close to MLB ready to replace Ethier who we did not plan to extend.

Thanks for the trade Dan!  Please confirm at your convenience.

We do this because we feel Andre still has some gas in the tank and costs nothing. I don't think Gausman is that much better than Niese at this point, but he may be two years down the road. But I will worry about that then. Also, not big fans of Mr. Brown and I almost cut him yesterday
