Title: Blockbuster Trade in Keystone State

This is a wacky deal for my franchise.  I am sending my favorite real-life Pirate to Philly for a top outfielder.  The total loss in fantasy points above replacement value could be about even in this deal, but I have enough pieces available to optimize my lineup.  I figure my Pirates have a small window to compete.  Cutch was a long-term guy on the club, but I retain trade chip value on Holliday, so if I need to go young at a later point then I will be able to by trading away Matt next year.

OF Gardner, Brett, $0.5m (P-2012)
SP Scherzer, Max, $9.5m (2012)
MI Valdez, Wilson, $0.5m (2012)

:PIT: receives
OF Holliday, Matt, $17m (2014)
+ $7.5m from Philly this year + $6m from Philly in 2012 on Holliday's deal
MI Donald, Jason, $0.5m (2011)
CI-MI Kennedy, Adam, $0.5m (2011)

Phillies confirm this deal.

I am happy to get McCutchen in the deal because of his long term upside.  It allows me to get some cap relief that I really need in a couple of seasons.  Scherzer completes my pitching staff.  Holliday was tough to deal but I feel like I got a good return on him. 

Thanks for the negotiations Colby!  We went back and forth for a while but I think we came up with a solid deal for both  :toast:

Good trade but Wilson Valdez can't be traded until June 1st.

I think it is 60 days, but still he can't be traded til the end of May. Good catch Paul.
