Title: COL acquires an OF better than Upton/Granderson/Bruce
Post by: h4cheng on April 01, 2011, 08:24:22 AM

P Odorizzi, Jake, $0.5m (P-n/a)
C Kottaras, George, $1.5m (2011)
RP Tawaza, Junichi, $1m (2011)

for

X-OF Fukudome, Kosuke, Cash Exchange on Contract, $-8.5m in 2011
OF Fukudome, Kosuke, $12m (2011)
3.5M in cash

I gain some salary relief and roster spots flexibility (not mentioned acquire Mr.Awesome).  In exchange, I gave up one of the better prospects in Odorizzi. Thanks for the easy negotiations Jake.

Nationals confirm. I had a bit more extra cash going into the season than I had expected, so it was hard to turn down this offer. Odorizzi's K rate is hard to pass up, and he has the greatest first name in the world.

Please drop OF Trayce Thompson and CI Mark Kotsay to keep me at the 40 man limit.

Thanks Howe!

Ordozzi is another good young pick up for Jake.  Watch out 2013 or 2014 for the Natinals.
