Title: Phillies - Cards trade
Post by: papps on December 05, 2014, 10:17:10 PM

Phillies get:
C Avila, Alex, $5m (2016)

Cards get:
RP Thayer, Dale, $0.5m (P-2015)
RP Carpenter, David, $0.5m (P-2015)

I had a need at C and Avila will fit in nicely.  Thanks for the easy deal Paul!

Cardinals confirm.  With Salvador Perez and Yasmani Grandal at catcher we did not need Avila.  Carpenter and Thayer will fill our 2 remaining bullpen spots without spending in free agency.  Thanks Chris!
