I hate to see Austin Jackson go, but I hope the addition of Young will improve my offense which lost a little bit in my trade with Howe. I was also able to create a little cap space, while taking a chance on a young pitcher which I like a lot in Carrasco. Rick, I'm glad we were finally able to get something done and I believe this helps out both ball clubs.
Here's to Conger or maybe even Mesoraco producing this year, :toast:

White Sox accept this deal.
1.) Acquiring Martin gives us versatility by allowing Napoli to play either CI or UT in addition to C
2.) The Sox feel they have decent power numbers with McGehee,Pena,Napoli,Ethier and to some extent Stubbs. A.Jackson gives us some speed that we sorely need.
3.) Hammels contract, while exorbitant, still only puts our SP at around 12% of our total cap. Considering what pitching numbers mean in this league we can live with that. Carrasco is a fine young pitcher but we feel like we have some depth in that area.
