Title: A's/Royals Deal
Post by: Needle Juice on March 07, 2011, 12:45:28 PM

OF Joyce, Matt, $0.5m (P-2011)
For
C Saltalamacchia, Jarrod, $0.5m (2011)

I receive Salty to fill in for the injured Castro.  Both of these players offer good potential, Joyce has had some success with Power and OBP at the major league level, while Salty should get a large amount of the at bats in Bos.

Royals to confirm.  Freddy, thanks.

I think Salty could be a solid player and definitely a good backup to Carlos Santana, but my OF is thin and Joyce will add to the depth. If he could ever learn to hit lefties the deal could be good for both of us.
