Title: Colorado/Pittsburgh Trade
Post by: SlackJack on September 20, 2014, 09:55:43 AM

Pending Colorado/Tampa trade

Colorado is still moving contracts! Moving out Staal's $5m will cover the two contracts I receive in return. Fucale is a potential star but right now he is one heck of a trading chip. I covet both of the players coming to me and believe that the return to Pittsburgh helps that organization as well.

Nick Bjugstad, $2.8m (2014-2017)
LW - Nikolaj Ehlers (2014: 1/9 - 0 Games)

For

Jordan Staal, $5.0m (2013-2016)
G - Zachary Fucale (2013: 2/36 - 0 Games)

Thanks to mCrow for the deal!  :toast:

Confirmed.  The Pens are sorry to see Bjugstad go, but hoping for a bounce back from J Staal.  Plus, the Pens are so organizationally thin at the goaltender position ... thanks to the bungling of the Ray Shero era ... so we're happy to add Fucale to the stable.

:iatp: great trade for both teams. Really solid specs going both ways. I think Jordan will return to form while Nick gets better his 2nd fullyr.

I give the win the Pitt, but Colorado is getting some great pieces back.

:iatp: Zachary Fucale is getting passed around like a cheap. Nevermind. Good deal by the Pens to get a goalie for the future and a Staal. Avs getting young solid offensive help and a prospect on the fasttrack to the NHL. Giving the edge to Colorado for the cap savings and the spec that will mature faster.
