Am I correct to assume that all free agents added after the regular season has begun will be for the minimum salary of 500K, because the bidding ends after the first game?

OFA ends at the start of the season... in the rules it states(see below)... all free agents brought up during the regular season go through the same bidding process

Could someone from last year please explain how prospects like Smoak, Feliz, Holland, and Stanton were picked up last year for 500K?  Hard to believe there were no bids on them.

All of them had huge bonuses in 2009.
