with the Free Agency going crazy and the few quality LW available my best option was via trade  :judge:

Detroit confirms. I probably shouldn't be making the Ducks any stronger with HF47 at the helm, but with this deal I am able to trade back into the first round, even though it's a late pick. I consider Raymond to be expendable and I am pretty deep on LW eligible players.

Thanks for the deal! Though I wish I would have gotten Forsberg  :P

Raymond is not a bad player to get, especially at that price. Initially he should be an upgrade to a late first (but you never know).

Forsberg is very comfortable and happy in Tampa, lets hope we got it right, you gotta beware of these freaky ducks.  :toast:

I feel Mason Raymond has a very affordable brand new contract and he's still a young guy. Will give :ANA: the Win for that reason.

That Ducks 1st RD pk is 25th overall. Usually takes a few yrs to make the NHL.

:iatp: Giving :ANA: the W here for adding a warm body for a late 1st RD pk.

I'm good with this deal. Kind of surprised Mason didn't cost that much (late 1st Rd) since the Wings just landed him from Tampa. He's also got a cheap cap hit. Good for the Ducks!
