Title: St Louis and Detroit Trade
Post by: izaman3 on August 10, 2014, 09:51:47 AM
To St Louis
D Josi, $3.3m (2014-2016)
C Darren Helm, $1.5m (2014-2016)
D Dennis Seidenberg, $0.5m (2013-2015)
C - Mark McNeill (2011: 1/18 - 0 Games)
Round 2 - 2014

To Detroit
Jake Allen, $0.9m (2013-2016-EL)
C - Jori Lehtera (2008: 3/65 - 0 Games)

I do this deal to get Allen because I believe he'll have a good future. He won't be the starter in St Louis this year, maybe not next year either, but soon. Lehtera should have a prominent role with the Blues this year and just signed a nice contract. I also really like the cap space I get.

I give up some talent on good contracts, but am really happy with what I'm getting back. After seeing the recent deal for Smith, I've really okay with what I'm giving up for Allen.

Thanks for deal Ripper!

Blues accept. We already have two goalies and seeing how the bidding on free agents is going we decided to add some depth players on decent contracts. Both teams fill needs which works out well!

Good Luck this season,
Ripper

Blues getting great value on the package they get for prospect goalie Jake Allen who's supposed to be terrific and possibly better than Ben Bishop. We'll see. Good trade guys.

Smart trade i think
Its always a good idea to fill your roster without depending on FA
I also like the upside of Jake Allen

:iatp: STL wins now. Wings win in 2-3yrs with Allen.
I prefer what the Blues are getting.

The edge goes to St.Louis for turning two pretty good prospects into a package of proven veteran players. Allen does have a chance to be a star from everything I've read.

Got to give the Win to :STL-NHL: now and :DET-NHL: is a  :winner: in 2yrs when Jake is a fulltime Starter for someone especially playing behind Hitch's group of D. Good trade for both teams.

Good asset movement by both teams. Jake Allen is supposed to be the backup this year and could see lots of action behibd Elliott. That package going to the Blues looks like it fills lots of needs. Smart trade all around.
