LOVE JVR! The Flyers should have never traded him (idiots). I LOVE CAMPBELL! He will get his shot sooner than later i think. We get 2 Goalies in addition, 1 at the end, 1 at the start of long careers in Backstrom and Madsen, and we moved up in the draft. I like Smith alot, but this was exactly what we felt we needed in Tampa. Hopefully the committee (league) approves as well.
I need a baby wipe.

Smart moves for both teams. Have to say I really like what Daddy is doing with his MLR and MiLR. Present and future are accounted for in his moves. As for the Oil, what's not to like about landing an ace of a goalie like Tippett's boy Mike Smith. I'm partial to the package heading to :TBL:. If Backstrom plays half a season on a timeshare with Harding, he'll be a great return along with JVR and all the other goodies in that package.

Perhaps the real Edmonton Oilers can use this FNHL trade as reference on how to properly address their goaltending issue. Pay the price, make the sacrifice to get a bonafide Number 1 goaltender.
It's great to see two owners building contenders.
Slight edge to Tampa Bay for the huge haul on their "spare" goalie. But I have to say Jonathan landed a terrific starter here.

Smith is a great goalie and at 32yo he's going to be valuable for another 3-4 yrs. He's a Top 10 G in this league! If you were going to deal a starter like Smith, that's the package you want with young high ceiling talent, a 1st line roster player like JVR and a 1A goalie in Backstrom. There's a lot of good stuff going on in this trade. Great job guys!
