To Hawks
G Josh Harding, $1.6m (2011-2014) ... 5.5m (2014-2018)
RW David Moss, $1.6m (2012-2015)
To Panthers
RW Jarome Iginla, $5.4m (2013-2016)
LW - Adam Erne (2013: 2/33 - 0 Games)
Round 4 - 2014 (from :CHI-NHL:; originally :BOS-NHL:)
Hawks make this deal to fill a void behind Price that led to our early playoff exit last Spring. Harding is a potential #1 goalie and at worst a great backup. Iggy is up there in age with a big cap hit and it's a good time to sell high after a great season in Boston. Moss will help replace a good chunk of the points leaving with Iggy and he's much lighter on the wallet. Erne and the 4th round pick were needed to get Florida to part with their goalie.
Pigs to confirm. :toast:

:FLO: Confirms this trade with Chicago.
Blackhawks were one of several teams to send over an offer or kick the tires on Harding. After 2 yrs in Florida it was time to move Harding along. I personally like Iginla more in Colorado than in Boston and think he's still got another couple of seasons left in the tank of course there's a risk in hitting a sharp downturn in production anytime you're dealing with a 37yo hockey player. There risk and reward going both ways and I think this works nicely for both teams.

:iatp:
I had to think about this trade.
Harding scored close to 200 points in a partial season, Moss was shy of 100, meanwhile Iginla scored around 200 total.
As PR mentioned there is risk involved for both teams so it seems balanced.
However, if Backstrom fails to regain his form in Minnesota and Harding can play more than half a season this will be a huge Win for Chicago.

:iatp:
I get why both teams made this deal. Personally I like the Panther's end of the deal because I see a lot off uncertainty in the Minnesota crease, especially with Harding's health problems.

Going to FLA 198.55 pts
Iginla 198.55
Going to CHI 273.45 pts
Harding 178
Moss 95.45
:iatp: Win to CHI.

Good deal for PPG's Hawks and according to Harding's GM Josh will be ready when training camp rolls around. Florida still looks full on RW and gave up a valuable goalie asset. No clear winner imo.
