Do we have anything in place for this? Thomas Fleishman is out for season with Heart issues. I would like to place him on LTIR which clears his salary off the cap. Discussion please. Thanks

Sorry we don't. I have the same problem on my team with Josh Harding, Latendresse, James Sheppard, Zidlicky (now got rid of his injured body)

OK, but I believe this issue should be addressed by the league executive. We are trying to emulate the NHL and its ways and this is a a situation when put in place is beneficial to all in the league.

Ya it could but don't know how this will be of benefit, say a guy like Fleishman or Latendresse who would qualify for LTIR but other than this section in of the season where the players have been released from teams, we probably wouldn't be able to sign a player of equivalent value/price to cover their spot. I am gonna move this to the Rules Committee, we can continue our dicussion there.

Yes, this is special circumstances with the FA sweepstakes we are having right now. So usually the cupboard would be pretty bare. No problem then, like you said we are all in the same position.

I'd consider 1 LTIR spot to be instituted when the league is rolled over into next year. It would be a roster space hit, but not against the cap, IMO.

Other way around, lol. I mean, if a person were on LTIR, they would open a roster space and still count against a teams salary cap.

This change has been added to the rules.
Long-term Injured Reserve
Each team will be allowed to place 1 player on Long-term Injured Reserve (LTIR). Players salary will still count against a teams cap, however this will free up 1 roster spot.
