Royals do this trade for the run at the World Series. Trahan is the big spec loss, but trying to win now.

We have to pay $25M of a $36M deal, but it saves us $11M and we get 1 very good prospect and a couple of C+ pitching prospects.

Approve. Very interesting to see how this one ends up when Peavy's contract is up. Trahan is an interesting guy, high risk as high school catchers have a high failure rate compared to other positions.

Strahan has already been moved off of C.  He's strictly played RF, LF, & DH this season.  That gave me pause, as obviously it affects his value.  But ultimately, Peavy at 2 years/$11M is probably close to what he would've gotten in free agency this past offseason (though obviously with a longer deal).
