Nicklas Backstrom, $m (2009-2010) 

#3 C in 2009-10 = 8.3m (2013-14)


Caps cut DJ King, $6.4m (2011-2012)

12.8 for 2 years = %66 is 8.45 /2 = 4.22 a year

Savings of 2.2 per year leaving 8.9 in cap room.

King would be 4.3m/season, it is always rounded up but still sufficient to sign Backstrom. Backstrom would also be a 5 year deal as it is over 8m
