The Cubs have announced they have released the following players:
P Blevins, Jerry, $0.5m (P-2011)
SP Meche, Gil, $7m (2011)
As a result of his contract running through the 2011 season, the Cubs will incur a cap hit of $5m for Meche's salary (correct?).
