Title: Buccos/A's Deal
Post by: Needle Juice on December 08, 2010, 11:33:02 AM
OF Gordon, Alex, $0.5m (2012)
P Sampson, Keyvius, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P West, Sean, $0.5m (P-2012)

for

P Lyles, Jordan, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Crow, Aaron, $0.5m (P-n/a)

We receive two very good SP prospects, Lyles being the better of the two.  Trade away Gordon and hopes he helps the Buccos and begins to reach his potential.  I like having a strong stable of arms.

Colby, very good negotiations, please confirm when you have the chance.

Thanks

Rob, and the real-life A's, focus their prospects on pitching.  My fantasy Pirates have always been focused on the bats.  The farm system for the pitchers was already thin, but this makes it even worse.  Sampson and West are downgrades from the top 100 prospects that I am sending to Oakland, but the remaining potential of Gordon could be worth the risk.

:iatp: Gordon probably will never live to his potential, but still hitters are favored over pitchers in this league, so it may end up being a good deal.
