Title: Mariners / Pirates Trade

Mariners and Pirates agree the following trade

Mariners get
Paul Maholm $5m (2011)
Joe Thatcher $0.5m (P-2011)

Pirates get
Russell Branyan $1.5m (2009) with $1.5 salary paid by Mariners for 2010
Mike Sweeney $0.5m (2009)

Branyan and Sweeney to be extended at the Pirates desired length

I wish I could accept the deal as these negotiations were going on, but it is unfair to others as it is past the official deadline.  :rool:

This is not a legal trade, because acording to the rules we can not trade money and in this case the mariners are paying the salary of Branyan  and that is trade money.

This deal is already in the Invalid Moves section so no need to worry. I do agree with Antonio that this deal would have been invalid anyways due to the trade of money and the fact that the 2 players going to Pittsburgh are free agents. Don't quite understand what was going on with this one.

It is supposed to be in the Franchise GM "Invalid" thread. Colby will catch it. Believe me, it's a very easy mistake to make
