Title: Trade: Mets / Rays
Post by: haseloff on January 20, 2014, 08:52:40 PM

:NYM: trades:
Lewis Brinson, prospect

:TB: trades:
Vinnie Pestano  $501,000 (2017)

:NYM: is looking to get some consistent playing time arms locked in.  RP FA won't go until late and we'd like to have a better idea at how much we can budget for the other positions.  While we love Brinson's straight up athleticism, he is still a ways off from prime time.  We are worried about his power translating to higher levels but hope him all the best with :TB:

Always a pleasure trading with :TB:, they'll confirm.

Rays confirm this deal...our farm system needs some work, so can't pass up a chance to get a decent prospect.  We hope Pestano does well for the Mets as they are always great to deal with!
